Description
Most chocolate chip cookie recipes don't do well in our high altitude...except for this one! Enjoy!

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large mixer beat together the butter, shortening and sugars till fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix together the flour, soda and salt and add to butter mixture slowly to incorporate. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen.

Ingredients
v 1 cup butter
v 1 cup shortening
v 1 cup brown sugar
v 1 cup granulated sugar
v 2 eggs
v 1 T. vanilla
v 5 1/2 cups flour
v 2 tsp. salt (Use less if nuts are salted)
v 2 tsp. baking soda
v 3-4 cups dark chocolate chips
v Optional - 2 cups whole macadamia nuts or other chopped nuts
